49th Annual Spud Tournament Wrap-Up

Thank you and congratulations to all participants, supporters, and volunteers who made the 49th Annual Ladner's Source for Sports Spud Minor Hockey Tournament another successful weekend.

Champions
The Spud is always a hard-fought battle and to be crowned Spud Champion is a significant accomplishment. Congratulations to this year's Spud Champions and runners-up on making it to the big game!

U11: Mid Isle Matrix 4 vs. Dieppe Aigles (Bourgeois) 2
U13: TASA Ducks 4 vs. Fredericton Canadians 3 (OT)
U16: Central Impact 1 vs. Eastern Dukes 2

Awards

• The Drew Power Leadership Award is based on an outstanding work ethic, striving for team goals above personal goals, inspiring teammates, loving hockey, and commitment to the game. This year's Drew Power Leadership Award was presented to Jack MacDonald of the U13 AAA Islanders.
• The Jeff Mobbs Memorial Award is awarded to the top defenceman in the U11 championship game. This year's Jeff Mobbs Memorial Award was presented to Linden Malone of the U11 Mid Isle Matrix.
• The Stu MacFadyen Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Tournament Chair Brodie O'Keefe. Brodie has dedicated countless hours over the past 8 tournaments as Chair to ensuring the continued success of the Spud Tournament.

Upcoming Spud Tournaments
The 50th Annual Spud Tournament will be held January 28-31, 2027. Registration will open in August 2026. Make sure to follow us on Facebook to stay in the know as we look ahead to next year!
